Our Story

Founded in 2014, petal-ocelot emerged from a shared passion among geographers, environmental scientists, and cartographers who recognised the need for accessible, high-quality geographic services in Australia.

Our founders had spent years working in academic research and government agencies, witnessing firsthand the gap between scientific geographic knowledge and its practical application. They believed that understanding the land should not be the exclusive domain of specialists, but accessible to anyone who needs to make informed decisions about Australia's diverse terrain.

Today, our team spans multiple disciplines and brings together expertise from every corner of the continent. We have conducted surveys in the arid heart of the outback, along the tropical coasts of Queensland, through the temperate forests of Tasmania, and across the urban landscapes of our major cities.
